About This Project
Where history, memory, and mystery cross paths
A Note From the Founder
I've often wondered what makes two people truly connect. How can we feel understood by someone we've just met, yet remain strangers to people we've known for years? What allows us to recognise one another beyond our different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of seeing the world?
I don't have the answers. And perhaps Where We Crossed doesn't need to find them.
I created this space to explore these questions with others. Through journals, personal stories, and encounters across places and cultures, I hope to create opportunities for people to look beyond the familiar, listen to one another, and discover what might emerge when we share our worlds.
Travel can be one way into these encounters. Unfamiliar places introduce us to different lives, histories, and perspectives. Sometimes, by looking more closely at another world, we begin to see our own differently, too.
The journals are where the journey begins. More than travel guides, they invite us to slow down, notice, write, and reflect on what a place makes us feel, remember, and question. Each journey begins somewhere specific, but the questions it raises may take us much further.
Not everything we write needs to be shared. Some reflections belong on the private pages of our own lives. Others become stories worth passing on. That is where Community Letters come in: a growing collection of stories about home, travel, encounters, and the many ways we experience the world. Each offers a glimpse into someone else's life, shaped by their own history, culture, and perspective.
Over time, I hope these stories become a human archive: a collection of ordinary people's experiences, preserved in their own words and passed from one generation to another. A way for future readers to encounter lives beyond their own time and place, through the voices and memories of those who lived them.
Perhaps a story from someone we've never met will challenge an assumption, open a door to a different perspective, or simply make us curious enough to listen a little longer.
I don't know what we might discover along the way. That uncertainty is part of why I began. Because we don't only cross places. We cross paths, cultures, generations—and sometimes, each other's lives. Somewhere in those crossings, there may be room for a deeper kind of understanding.
This is Where We Crossed—where people, stories, and histories cross paths.
